Crown Caps & Bottle Cappers
Once you have made your beer, lager or cider, it's time to bottle it. If you use beer bottles, you will need to cap them with crown caps and need a capper to crimp the crown caps to the bottle.
Crown caps are so called because the look like a crown. This design allows them to sit on top of the bottle neck and for the bottle capper to squeeze the pleats securing the cap to the bottle and making an air tight seal so that you can carbonate your beer, lager and cider.
Crown caps come in 2 main sizes - 26mm which fit most beer bottles and 29mm which fit sparkling wine and champagne bottles which are sometimes used for Belgian beers.
We have a range of colours of crown caps and a selection of beer bottle cappers.
Fitting a crown cap to a beer bottle is easy. Once you have filled your bottle, place the crown cap on top of the bottle. Take the capper and align the bell with the top of the cap, lower the levers so that the semi-circles line up with the bottle neck and then push the handles down to their maximum. Do not be tempted to use excess force as this will not crimp the crown caps more. If you feel you need to have a tighter crimp, simply raise the handles, turn the bottle 90° and crimp the cap again.

from 332 reviewsWe have purchased this wine kit numerous times. We have always had a good quality pack of wine. Presented chilled this wine is as good as any shop wine.
Always ready to drink within a couple of weeks .
Quite simply add this .
You will have the fermenter foaming all over the floor and walls but you will have the real quality that you want .
Made fruit wines of all types for years and on some as a hobby , had a go last year base level wine kit and so so ,a bit sweet ok if you only want to get well oiled . But this added to a kit is wow for a nearly sixty year old wine drinker just try adding half the bottle to your next 30 bottle kit you will never go back.
Very good works a treat.makes the wine look professional and attractive to the coinesseur.
I made my first ever wine, blackberry wine using this bag after following David on his Youtube video, great product, less mess and easy to use. Thank you David for your help and support with my order.
Easy kit to brew. Pleasant, very refreshing apple flavour ideal for lazy summer days in the sun. Very impressed and intend to try others in this range.👍
Lovely taste especially using the enhancer, cracking red wine.
Has turned out well, if a little slow in clearing
Youngs Cleaner & Steriliser made a good job of cleaning up a very dirty second-hand plastic keg I'd just acquired.
This classic red has a lovely taste and, is a firm favourite of mine. Brewbitz give a great service too.
Excellent product 👌
This is an excellent product and works very effectively. Very little of the yeast at the bottom of the fermentation vessel is disturbed. I order two of these but the package was delivered by the post empty. Brewbitz sent me replacements free of charge. Excellent service and value.
Greta service from Brewbitz as ever. I make Elderflower for a change from the usual white wines I make. It always turns out ok and is very refreshing.
Always quick delivery from Brewbitz and a great price. This Chardonnay is a kit I make regularly and always have some in my store cupboard. It has a very good taste and is probably my favourite. Been making wine for almost 40 years so I think I know what I'm doing by now
Does the job it is meant to and very easy to operate
My third attempt at using wine kits, very easy to follow instructions, this is by far the best one yet, won't be the last time I buy this wine.
