Choose the right brewing sugar to use with your homebrew beer or wine to get the best flavour possible. There are different types of brewing sugar and choosing the right one when brewing is key to adding flavour, mouthfeel and sweetness to your beer, cider or wine.

- Supermarket sugar will add a sweetness to the finished brew.
- Brewing sugar allows the yeast to turn it all to alcohol with no residual sweetness.
- Spray malt or LME (liquid malt extract) will add extra body, mouthfeel and depth of flavour to a beer kit.
- Beer enhancer is 50/50 spray malt and brewing sugar to give you a middle ground.

Where a beer kit calls for sugar, you can substitute it for any of the above for the sugar at the same quantity.

When making a wine kits that needs sugar, we recommend using brewing sugar to give the best result.
