Using a brewing bucket as the first fermentation vessel will help prevent overspill as the initial fermentation can be quite vigorous. We have fermentation buckets in various sizes and you should choose a fermentation bucket slightly larger than the volume of liquid you are going to ferment to give adequate space for the head of yeast to form. Our brewing buckets range in size from 5 litres to 33 litres, with lids and options for taps and airlocks.
Fermenting buckets are made from food grade plastic, so are suitable for wine, beer, cider, lager and sugar washes.
When brewing wines, once the initial fermentation has slowed, it is advisable to transfer your brew to a Demi-John or Carboy to allow the fermentation to finish without risk of infection. Browse our range of Demi-Johns & Carboys.
