Almost there...
It's almost time to sit down and enjoy a big lunch with all the trimmings. If you are looking for something to do while the shops are shut, while the family are moaning about how long to cook the sprouts, then take your mind off it all, disappear for 30 minutes, get a brew on the go and have some ME time!
Warming Christmas Morning Punch
It's nice to wake up on Christmas morning and have a quick tipple to help with the jollies of the day and creating those happy faces when you open a present hoping its going to be a BrewMaster to find it's a washing basket, Oh well, there is always next year...
So how's about trying something Davin makes on Christmas morning.

Warm Christmas Morning Punch.

Ingredients
250ml Red Wine
Large Shot of Brandy (Or Whiskey or Rum)
75ml Orange Juice
1 Tablespoon Cranberry Sauce
Sprinkle of Nutmeg
3-4 tsp Brown Sugar - to taste

Method
Put the liquids in a saucepan and gently warm on a medium heat.  When you start seeing steam rise (it's not actually steam yet, that's alcohol!) add in the cranberry sauce, sugar and nutmeg, then stir until its all mixed in.

Then serve just warm in a big glass.

Delicious, warming and will give you rosy cheeks, just like Santa.

But only have a glass or two, or you won't know how to work the oven.

Christmas Cream Liqueur
Davin loves making this delicious cream liqueur at Christmas.  He doesn't care for whisky, so not keen on Baileys.  So here is an alternative you can make at home. If you want to make your own Baileys, then just swap the Vodka for Whiskey.

Ingredients
200ml Vodka - Or Whiskey
100ml Double Cream
100ml Sweetened Condensed Milk (Caramel version optional)
2 tsp Vanilla Extract

Method
Simply put all ingredients into a bowl and whisk
Pour this into a bottle and put in the fridge.
Keep in the fridge and drink within 2 weeks, so just make small amounts at a time
Give the bottle a good shake before pouring.

Guinness Shortage
If you can't get your hands on this famous stout, then make your own at home.
We have 2 fantastic Irish Stout Kits that taste very similar to the big G.
Now unless you have a nitrogen powered smooth flow powered tap at home, you may not get that famous Guinness head, but you will get all the flavour, aroma and body in a great tasting stout.

Try making a Mangrove Jacks Irish Stout, just add 1kg of Beer Enhancer and water.
Or
Try making a John Bull Irish Stout, just add 1kg of Beer Enhancer and water.

These kits ferment in 5-10 days, bottle and after just 10-14 days in the bottle, it's ready to drink.  And you will get a stout with a lovely creamy fluffy head with all the flavours you are used to.
