New Beer Kit
Mangrove Jacks have a new lager kit called Golden Lager.
A crisp and light golden lager with delicate cereal malt and subtle fruit notes. Smooth and balanced with a gentle bitterness and a mild, spicy-floral aroma from Liberty hops at about 4.4% ABV.
The kit will also need 1kg of brewing sugar or beer enhancer or 1.2kg light liquid malt extract.

Dune Bar Tasting
About a month ago we brewed up the Festival Dune Bar Amber Ale beer kit, so we thought we would put it to the test against the real Doom Bar to see how close it is.
Colour was good, aromas were close, flavours were close, but there was a difference we had not expected. Both were similar except 1 thing.

This Months Recipe
Hazy Pale Ale
I thought I would make my own beer recipe using the Muntons Liquid Malt Extracts, so using a tin of extra light malt and a tin of oat malt, some mangrove Jacks yeast and lots of hops, I created a deliciously tropical pale ale that is as good as an all grain equivalent. We videoed it for YouTube so you can either watch how we made it or just follow the recipe below.

Lets Get Brewing!
To make 23 litres you will need...

Ingredients
1 tin Muntons Extra Light LME
1 tin Muntons Oat Malt Extract
1 Mangrove Jacks M66 Yeast
Pure Brew Yeast Nutrient
Hop Boost
50g Olicana Hops
50g Chinook Hops
100g Amarillo Hops
2 litres boiling water
Cold tap water to top upto 23 litres

Equipment:
Brewing Bucket
Siphon
Steriliser
Hydrometer
Thermometer
Bottles
Straining Bag
Jug.

Method:
1 - Sterilise the straining bag.
2 - Pop the tins of malt into hot water to soften the LME
3 - Put 50g of Chinook Hops into the Straining bag. Tie a knot. Put it in a large jug.
4 - Pour 1 litre of boiling water over the chinook hops and leave to steep.
5 - Open and pour both tins into a 23 litre fermenter
6 - Use 2 litres of boiling water to rinse out the tins to get all the LME and pour this into the fermenter.
