Batten down the hatches as storm Ashley approaches. Talking about brewing, we have a couple of new recipes for you to make some delicious beer. A new all grain kit and a malt extract recipe you'll find at the bottom of this email.
Grand Howl IPA It's been really busy here at Brewbitz and I havent had much time to brew beer from grain, so the first chance I had, I thought I would make another no boil kit. This one is full of flavour, with a decent bitter hit, tropical, fruity, and lots of body, with a little bit of a malty undertone to remind you it's a beer. About 5.5% ABV its got a gorgeous dark orange colour. Oh and the name? Grand Howl.
Enhancing a Wine Kit I expect you have seen the 7 day wine kits, but did you know there is an easy way to make them taste even better without having to go to the next level in wine kits. You can simply add some more concentrated grape juice. Add 500ml of grape juice concentrate to a Cellar 7 or a SG Platinum kit. Or Add 250ml to the SG Classic, Gold and Winebuddy kits.
It will improve it's flavour, body and mouthfeel. But remember, as we have added a little extra, you might find it might take 5-7 to ferment. But hey, what's a couple more days for great tasting wine?
Remember to choose red for red wines and white for white wines.
You can do this to any wine kit. If you think it needs a little more pizzazz, then try adding some extra concentrated grape juice. .
7 Day Wine Kits Browse our selection of 7 day wine kits and remember to get your wine enhancer to really lift your 7 day wine kits and give them even more flavour, mouthfeel, more body and more zing. .

This Months Recipe Hazy Pale Ale I thought I would make my own beer recipe using the Muntons Liquid Malt Extracts, so using a tin of extra light malt and a tin of oat malt, some mangrove Jacks yeast and lots of hops, I created a deliciously tropical pale ale that is as good as an all grain equivalent. We videoed it for YouTube so you can either watch how we made it or just follow the recipe below.
Lets Get Brewing! To make 23 litres you will need...
Method: 1 - Sterilise the straining bag. 2 - Pop the tins of malt into hot water to soften the LME 3 - Put 50g of Chinook Hops into the Straining bag. Tie a knot. Put it in a large jug. 4 - Pour 1 litre of boiling water over the chinook hops and leave to steep. 5 - Open and pour both tins into a 23 litre fermenter 6 - Use 2 litres of boiling water to rinse out the tins to get all the LME and pour this into the fermenter.
That’s all from us for now. We'll be bringing you some newrecipes and videos for beer and wine in the near future, so keep your eyes peeled. In the meantime, if you have any suggestions or questions about brewing, feel free to get in touch.
